Closer the Distance is a deeply moving, slice-of-life sim that tells a story about the connections between family and friends in the face of tragedy.
Following a fatal car accident, players take on the role of Angela, a young girl from the town of Yesterby, who finds herself watching over her loved ones as they navigate the grieving process.
Using her ethereal ability to influence the townspeople she once knew, Angela’s choices will ultimately determine the fate of Yesterby.

Meet your neighbours
Galya
As the village's sole physician, Galya prides herself on helping others and sticks around for that very reason. She's content where she is and feels indebted to the village – for now.
Jasper, Blanche, Eli
As head of business in the village, Jasper knows how to get his way. Luckily, his wife Blanche is fiercely dedicated to her loved ones, steadfastly supporting Jasper and their son Eli.
Conny
Quiet daydreamer Conny is at her most comfortable remaining in the background. Her mother's overprotective nature only intensifies Conny's shyness, making her feel isolated and misunderstood by the other villagers, something she longs to change.
Pia + Axel
Tailor Pia has a tendency to keep everything under close control, as opposed to her farmer husband Axel, who prefers to go with the flow to avoid stirring up a fuss. How will these differences in character cause problems when times get tough?
Zek
Zek is a mechanic and carpenter who yearns for the world outside of Yesterby. But with a history of tragedy following him, and a father he's desperate to help, he will have to make a tough decision between his family and his dreams.
Leigh + Bodhi
Mother and son duo Leigh and Bodhi like a quiet life. Leigh has settled in well, finding love and exercising her sunny disposition, while awkward Bodhi silently pines for his own romantic interest, using his passion for tinkering as a cover.
Melville
Conflicted and frustrated, carpenter Melville's short temper and isolation bely a once-caring heart. Known for his unhealthy obsession with work and alcohol, he spends most of his days fixing up his home in an endless battle against time.
River
River is a creative and passionate young woman, and the newly appointed manager of the Boat Lodge Project. She has great plans for the village, but River remains conflicted over her management of a project her friend opposed.
Laul
Travelling singer Laul recently rolled into the village with a guitar on his back and a dog by his side. He's eager to get involved with the locals and help out where he can, but underneath his friendliness lies an unmistakable melancholy.
Henrietta
Elderly fisherwoman Henrietta knows the village like nobody else. Despite being headstrong and stoic, her health is failing her. In her heart she knows that what she does in these last few years may shape the legacy of the village as much as her own.
